Mrs. Alma Evett

Mrs. Teresa West has been at First Baptist since 2000.   Typically, she is the first person you will meet when visiting our Church Office.  Teresa is married to Billy and is the mother of  two adult daughters, Ashley and Amanda.   Teresa views her work at First Baptist as a ministry.  She is very willing to assist members and guests alike with questions concerning First Baptist or any of our programs. 

Mrs. Jan Cochran retired from USDA in 2011 and joined the staff at First Baptist in September 2013 . She is married to Robert "Mickey" Cochran and they live in Bath. She has a son, Christopher in Aiken, SC and step-daughter, Susan in Raleigh. Jan and Mickey are active members at St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Barbara Owen's family lives in Washington and she has worked with USDA-Rural Development for 28 years.  She has a great love for music and has played the piano since the age of 13 and has served FBC for 12 of those years. 

Mrs. Alma Evett and husband, Gilbert, residents of Washington, moved to Beaufort County in 1988. Since 1986 both were active Realtors until their retirement in 2016. Together they have 4 adult children and 10 grandchildren who live in NC, SC and VA. Alma has been organist at First Baptist for 12+ years and is now serving as interim. She is also active in Beaufort County community events.

Mr. Berto Torres joined the staff as sexton early 2016.
